Ava & Family - Newborn Session

I first met this wonderful family about four years ago, when Mum Ali booked in for a Newborn Session for her long awaited little one. Ali had been looking for a Newborn Photographer in Cheshire or North Wales and a mutual friend recommended me. We pencilled in her due date and awaited the exciting news.

When little Cleo arrived, they contacted me straight away (did I mention that one of my favourite parts of the job is that birth announcement!) to book an actual date for the session. I always try to offer a couple of session dates for within those first 14 days of birth, when baby is still tiny and curled up, with those special newborn features, the little lanugo hairs and milia on their noses.

I planned the session and when the day came and the family of three arrived with, I felt like we hit it off immediately. Ali and Chris were so warm and friendly and just super relaxed, happy to go with the flow. Little Cleo was just like her parents. She was so chilled out and always seemed to have a little smile on her beautiful face. Together, we created a perfect gallery that the family could treasure for generations to come.

On that note, it sounds so cliche, but that is the difference with this kind of investment. So many don't flinch at paying out for clothes, hair and all of the many beauty treatments there are to offer (and don't get me wrong, we need to feel good about ourselves too), but that investment lasts a month or two. The investment you make when you book a Newborn, Baby, Child or Family Photographer is going to last you many lifetimes. Passed on through generations. Who doesn't love looking at pictures of themselves when they were little, and sharing them with our own little ones. And isn't it so incredibly important to have your children see in years to come the connection that you had with them.

Back to my original blog! Cleo has been back a couple of times since and it's always such a pleasure to see her, as it is with all my little clients, whatever their personality! I especially love to see them grow. But when Ali booked in to come back again for another Newborn Session, I was blown away with excitement! And yet again, it didn't disappointment. Cleo was smitten with her baby sister, Ava, and loving her new big sister status as is pretty evident in her gallery. I also could not get over how similar Ava was to Cleo as a newborn, again with a little smile on her beautiful, sweet face. I cannot see how she changes over the months and years!

As always, over the next 2-3 weeks from the session, I put together a selection of beautiful images and edited them ready for presenting. I then like to give parents the chance to come and view the gallery here, but most enjoy doing it in the comfort of their own home. In this case, I send out an invitation to view, along with a personal password for client privacy and over the next 7 days, the images are available for you to view and choose from. My most popular package are the full digitals, and I am always over the moon when clients products because I just LOVE to see them printed big!

I have put together a selection of my favourite images from Ava’s gallery for you to take a look at. I hope you enjoy viewing!

Also, because I love seeing my clients back again and watching the grow, I have some exciting news for all of my returning customers. Make sure you're a member of my Facebook VIP group for more details to come or contact me in your usual way if you're not on Facebook.

I can't wait to see you all again and for new clients who are interested in booking, feel free to contact me through here or using my email address: hello@samanthadphotography.co.uk.

Sending big love and wishing you all a beautiful evening

"A Family in the Hills" Photo Session - Llangollen

Oh my goodness, this Family Photography Session in Llangollen, North Wales (just out of Chester) was absolutely incredible. To get this far up sure was a mission, but I’m always after an adventure and I loved every minute of it! This lovely extended family made it perfect, they were fun, relaxed and just enjoying time together.

I do ask my clients to meet me around an hour before sunset for my outdoor family photography sessions. Children deal with this well, even when they have a set bedtime routine, they enjoy the excitement of being elsewhere and believe me, we will keep them fully occupied, making memories, until they drop off asleep in the car on the way back home.

Being an extended family session, as a surprise gift for their parents/in-laws, we focussed on getting a mix of natural images and groupings. When you book with me, you will receive a questionnaire so that I can provide the perfect session tailored to your needs.

If you would like more information, please do get in touch through my contact form, or feel free to give me a call on 07792 190379.

Amelia & Georgina’s Relaxed Portrait Session

Hi there!

To anyone who has just found my page for the first time, I’m Samantha of Samantha D Photography, specialising in Family, Children and Newborn Photography. I live in Cheshire, but I am honoured to say that I have clients travelling to me (and I to them) from further afield. My style of photography is photojournalistic, generally I love to capture connection…be that cuddles, kisses or tickles…I want memories of the real you in this moment, to be looked back on forever.

I am so lucky to see most of my clients back again and again…it is such a blessing to see them grow. Below are some images from a sibling photo session last year. Here we chatted about the Royal Wedding, friends, favourite teddies and lost teeth! Looking back now, it makes ME so happy to see these two…I can only imagine the smile it will bring to their faces in the years to come, and when one day, they’ll maybe even be looking back with their own children. I am so blessed to have that opportunity, and therefore, I pour my heart into each session.

Each and every child that I have met over the years is so incredibly unique and therefore, each and every session of mine is unique. I want to capture their personalities and their soul. Please feel free to take a look at some more studio sessions for older children in my portfolio.

If you would like to book a session with me, and you don’t find what you’re looking for in my shop please do contact me and I will happily send you further information and look at some suitable dates.

I look forward to hearing from you!
