Will & Olivia

Time for some sneak peeks of the gorgeous Olivia & Will.  Olivia was just 3 months when I first met their gorgeous family and I was over the moon to see them back again.  They just have the most incredible smiles and beautiful bond.

I look forward to sharing their new gallery <3

Sebastien, 6 Months | Baby Photographer Cheshire

I meant to post this blog way back because I absolutely fell in love with the session!  My heart still skips a beat looking through now.  Little Sebastien had been to see me as a newborn some months prior to this and when his mum asked to come back to see me, as always, I was over the moon.

When we booked him in, we didn't know whether he would be sitting by this point, and he wasn't quite there, although we did manage to catch a couple of wobbly sitting ones at the end of the session (with mum and dad on hand to keep him secure).  However, we knew that it would be a great session as the main aim was to capture natural moments of Sebastien and his amazing parents, especially as dad hadn't been able to make it to his Newborn Session.

As you will see, it was super relaxed and simply real.

Below are just a few of my favourites from the session...

If you're looking at getting images of your little ones in that first year, here is a brief guideline of what I capture...

Newborn Stage - Recommended age between 4-14 days, although some of my favourite sessions have been up to 6 weeks!

3-6 Months - To capture those first beautiful smiles and babies are generally super happy to simply lie on their backs here or have cuddles.

6-9 Months - When they're super proud of sitting and ready to get on the move, showing off their crawling and rolling skills!

12 Months - An absolute must to capture this huge Milestone of turning 1! Where did that year go?!

Hallie, Week 4

Hi all,

As you know, I'm a Newborn Baby Photographer in Tarporley, Cheshire.  I love simplicity, details and emotion, and the wonder of newborns amazes me daily.

When mums and mums to be contact me regarding newborn sessions, I always recommend booking soon after their 12 week scan.  This is generally because I try to limit my sessions each month, as of course we never know when baby is going to make their arrival into the world and I would never want to be in a position where I can't fit you in.  It also gives mum and dad peace of mind that they can relax and another box is ticked in the preparation of this life changing milestone in their lives.

I know that this isn't always the case and I know that some parents haven't even considered a newborn photography session before the birth of their baby and so I would always recommend contacting me to check for urgent availability.  As with Hallie here, I may not be able to do the session immediately, but just look at her, at 4 weeks she was absolutely perfect in every way and I'm so happy that I could capture these memories for her family.  This is a selection from her final gallery.

All of my newborn sessions take place in my home studio in Kelsall, along with my assistant...who happens to be my own wonderful mum, Julie, so you can relax and watch on.

Thank you for visiting and please feel free to contact me for more information.

Samarth, Day 16

Why ‘Hire’ a Newborn Photographer?

Hello all and thanks for coming by to read my blog!

As you are probably aware by now, I am a (mostly) Newborn Photographer in Cheshire. My dream is to create timeless, lifelong memories at this precious time in new parents lives.  I love newborns, I love families, special moments in time, capturing emotions, being a part of that little bubble that is someones everything…so they’re my reasons for being a Newborn Photographer…but what are your reasons for hiring?

There are many reasons why I believe everyone should ‘hire’ a Newborn Photographer…

To be in the images yourselves!

It is so easy and convenient to click away yourself when your little one arrives…but what about mum and dad getting in there on the pictures? I so wish I had more of me from when my little ones were newborns (and shamefully, even now, it is my resolution this year to get in more images with my boys).  Your little ones will love looking at these as they get older, we all know how much emotion an image can hold.

To take a moment to relax and take everything in:

Wow, 3 hours for a photography session…it can come across as a long period of time, but believe me, from the feedback I receive, there is nothing better at that moment in time, than just sitting back and taking it all in.  Whether you catch a few zzzz’s, read a magazine, have a catch up with each other, or simply watch and admire the miracle that has entered your lives, those 3 hours are just as precious as the images we’ll be capturing.

Simply to capture those tiny details, whilst they’re still so…tiny…

You may want to simply create an album of those perfect little individual details.  To treasure and dotingly coo over, over years to come and through future generations.  Some may want to display a few amazing, bold pieces of wall art throughout their family homes, to adore each day that passes by.  My own parents had a huge picture of me displayed in our front room, it was like part of the furniture, but I’ll never forget it, it made me feel like I was special.  Or one of the most important reasons to hire a Newborn Photographer, or Photographer in general, may be to share these images with those further afield.  I am incredibly lucky that I have my family close by, and it’s easy to take that for granted at times, but for so many this isn’t the case at all and if they can’t be there for the cuddles, they’ll be wanting plenty of photo’s sharing!

On that note, I would love to introduce to you the gorgeous Samarth, who I met towards the end of last year.  I was super blessed that day, not only was he incredibly adorable, but we were also joined by his Nani…she was visiting from India and not only did we get parent images, we of course included Nani too…how wonderful to have those memories for the family and for Samarth himself to treasure one day.  Such a beautiful family <3 I hope you enjoy viewing a few of my very favourite images from his gallery...and how can you not with those amazing expressions of his!

So taking all of this into account, maybe I should be asking not why you would ‘hire’ a newborn photographer, but why you would ‘invest’ in a newborn photographer.  Please do share with me your reasons!

Photography and Friendships

As you know, I'm a Newborn Photographer in Cheshire, in fact, the small village of Kelsall, just outside of Chester.  Little did I know when starting in this little business of mine, that I would meet so many wonderful and likeminded individuals.  Many, to be honest, I have never met in person, including the wonderful Amanda Haddow, of Amanda Haddow Photography whose work I absolutely adore and must share with you.  She has recently moved to Victoria, BC and already things are going amazingly for her.  I'm sure you can see why!

Not only have I met some amazing fellow photographers, but my clients are all absolutely incredible, and I hope to continue hearing from you all as your little ones grow and progress.  Cruz here was just 6 days when he came to visit me for his first photo session, although I'd already met mum and dad at their maternity session.  Both sessions were so memorable and special for me and I just adore the results here.

As you can see, I have stayed with my natural and neutral feel, with an additional pose as requested by dad...;
